Leading and Managing Change

Leadership

Change is inevitable in the workplace, but it doesn’t have to be disruptive. With the right skills, leaders and managers can successfully guide their teams through change. Looking at change from a variety of angles, this course provides the tools and knowledge you need to lead and manage change. You’ll learn to assess your personal change readiness as well as the responses your team may have to difficult situations, develop a change management plan, and communicate effectively throughout the change process.

About the Course

Overview

Change is everywhere, and it affects every aspect of our existence. This truism is certainly at play in the workplace; however, acceptance of this reality is not always automatic. Some people fight, ignore, and/or fear change while others easily welcome, facilitate, and adapt to it.

During this course, participants will explore strategies for adapting to change while developing skills in leading and managing it. In addition, participants will assess and analyze their personal behavior during a change process, review organizational responses to change, learn steps to prepare people for change, complete and analyze a change readiness assessment, and apply principles of change management to their own experiences.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to

  • Explain the phases of the change process
  • Describe a model for organizational change
  • Experience the seven dynamics of change
  • Demonstrate what, when and how to communicate throughout a change effort
  • Establish tools for support of self and others through a change process
  • Analyze a specific change scenario facing your organization using the model provided
